Wood Floor Drying
The first step is to stop the cause of the water to impact your flooring. Then you must get up as much standing water as you can. The spaces between the wood flooring planks will allow the water to get underneath where it is more difficult to get out. If it was just a minor area that was affected you may be ok to handle it yourself. But if a large area was affected or a large amount of water was exposed to the floor you may want to call in a professional to handle the cleanup. If you wait to long you may start to see the wood boards start to cup meaning that water is indeed trapped between the subfloor and the wood flooring. If will only get worse with cracking or splitting the longer it sits wet.
